I wanted to take a moment to share feedback on the USPSA competition class I recently attended at Attak Consulting. The class was extremely well run and very informative. Devon did an excellent job explaining concepts clearly and ensuring everyone understood not just what to do, but why it was important. His depth of knowledge was obvious, and he was able to answer questions thoroughly while keeping the class moving at a good pace. Safety was clearly a top priority throughout the course. Procedures were consistently reinforced, and Devon maintained a professional, controlled environment that made the class both safe and productive for all participants. My husband and I took the ATTAK Consulting Firearms Safety/Pistol course over the past weekend. In short, it was the most awesome weapons and safety course environment I have taken. The class size was roughly 6 people, including the instructors Devon & Cat, of varying skill levels/experience. My husband and I have used firearms before but more so for hunting rather than security safety. So while we had some minimal knowledge, the instructors helped us broaden our scope (no pun intended) and never made us feel as if we were repeating things we already knew. After getting past the initial start up and safety demonstrations, then answering all our questions; the class became very hands on. We got to become familiar with field stripping 9mm, proper maintenance before and after firings, and how to clear different malfunctions. This was all through dry fire as well to understand the pistols we chose to use during this course. From there we went over the fundamentals of shooting, and ran through the shooting simulation drill before we went to the live firing. Attak Consulting has a pretty elaborate setup of training equipment which has got to be the coolest thing I have seen. Think like a video game but it helps you understand rules, regulations and allows you to become more comfortable with your firearm. Once we were out in the field we got to learn from what we felt needed improvement from the simulation. Devon and Cat answered any questions we may have had and demonstrated ways to improve as we moved forward. There is never a moment they don’t help you not become more confident in your abilities. Attak Consulting really went above and beyond what was required to be taught and their dynamic as instructors is top notch. Couldn't recommend Attak Consulting enough! Can’t wait for the next class!

The competition class was focused on affirming fundamental concepts and applying them to more complex situations. Because of the small class size, I was able to receive information from Devon in real time then apply that to the abilities that I have already brought to class. If you haven’t been to a training session with Devon at Attak Consulting, you’re missing out. Whether it’s competition pointers or self-defense tactics, he breaks them down for you step by step in his training room and shows you how to improve your techniques and tactics. After the indoor session, you step out to his range for part two and fine-tune what you learned with live ammo. You might be a little tired when you leave, but you’ll definitely be shooting better. Beyond that, if you want to build a pistol or revolver for competition, hunting or concealed carry, then you should talk to Devon. He works magic with S&W triggers, is great at stripling pistol grips, switching out triggers, mounting scopes, red dots or lasers.

I was very fortunate to be able to take a class with Attak Consulting recently. The instructor, Devon, has a long pedigree and career in the shooting world. His many years of experience and knowledge helped me to see my various pitfalls, and weak points in my shooting. He was able to work through them with me in a way that made sense and helped me to see real progress almost immediately. I was surprising myself by the end. He helped push me in the right direction and show me that with his help there is no limit to how good I can get eventually. The facility is exactly what you need for a shooting class. They start you off in a state-of-the-art laser dry fire range with a large projector that can display all kinds of shooting scenarios. Here Devon can help you hone in many skills that can be practiced outside of live fire. I was able to work on target transitions and target focus here, and he was able to watch how my gun and trigger finger behave to correct any problems. He also helped me use my body in a way that made my transitions much faster and compare my splits to transitions so that they are the same cadence so I'm not losing time. And the best part is it didn't cost any ammo!

The live fire portion was held on an awesome and sizable range a stones throw from the classroom. Here we could practice everything we went over in dry fire and put it all together so we could see what needed further correction. They set up a USPSA style stage so that I could run it a bunch of different ways and work on everything I had learned throughout the day until I was able to finally get everything right and get some awesome results.

All in all, I absolutely recommend Attak Consulting to ANYONE who wants to increase their shooting performance. Whether that be someone who has just bought their first gun, someone thinking about carrying one, someone who carries one every day as part of their job, or all the way up to an experienced competitive shooter. The price of the class is well worth it for the time and effort they put into teaching you. There is so much to gain from taking a class from Devon, and learning from someone who has so many years of experience and accolades, who has reached the top of what a human can do with a gun, and willing to share that knowledge with you!
